Morocco
GATEWAY TO THE EUROPEAN, AFRICAN AND MUSLIM WORLDS
Morocco, Arabic: المغرب, is a country in the extreme northwest of Africa. Let's go together to an unknown exotic country that has been the gateway to the European, African and Muslim world since the beginning of history. The territory of Morocco boasts not only a wealth of ancient and medieval monuments, but also an immeasurable and still unappreciated natural wealth. Sandy and stony deserts alternate with grassy semi-deserts and the mountain forests of the Middle and Rif Atlas Mountains.
The Kingdom of Morocco, located in the north-western corner of the continent of Africa, is an Arab country with a rich history, an advanced culture and numerous natural wonders. Beautiful ancient and medieval cities such as Ait Benhaddou, Essaouira, Marrakech or Fés will delight any lover of the Orient.
Morocco's coastline is battered by the Atlantic Ocean in the west and the Mediterranean Sea in the north. The coastal areas offer a typical Mediterranean subtropical climate, while inland you will encounter large temperature differences. The Atlas and Rif mountains rise into thousands of meters, and in the sandy desert you will experience scorching heat. The Sahara occupies much of eastern Morocco. The southern regions of the country are in an almost tropical climate zone. However, beautiful scenery and pleasant weather await you in almost all of the country, except perhaps in the scorching desert. The main tourist resorts are Agadir and Marrakech.
