The highest, largest, exclusively built year-round sports resort, also known as the gourmet village of the Alps. Interestingly, you can't get to Zermatt by your own car – cars are banned from entering.

Skiing and snowboarding

An incredible 33 of Switzerland's 74 peaks, with an altitude of over 4000m, are located around Zermatt. The resort has 250 pistes (390km) and 71 ski lifts and cable cars. The longest ski slope in the whole of Switzerland is the most popular – it measures a breathtaking 20.4km.

Hiking

Hiking and snowshoeing enthusiasts can enjoy the beauty of the snowy landscape. In summer, you can also visit the glaciers, which are also accessible from Zermatt. On the road, you will appreciate the cable car system and the cog railway.

3100 KULMHOTEL GORNEGRAT

You won't find a higher hotel in the Swiss Alps. The 3100 Kulmhotel's natural-colored rooms have the names of the mountains that can be seen directly from the hotel, and the door number is the height of the mountain in question.
